Shipping & Returns
We will typically process and ship your order within 24 hours of payment (hey, we like to get our stuff quick, too!) Orders placed on weekends and holidays will ship on the next business day. We are located in the heart of the Midwest, and all orders ship from our Indianapolis, Indiana location. For additional information regarding shipping and order returns, please see the following FAQ:
- How is shipping calculated? Shipping rates are calculated based on the combined weight and dimensions of your selected items.
- How long will it take for my order to arrive? We are happy to offer a selection of shipping services for you to choose from. For residents of the United States, your order may take anywhere from 2-7 business days to arrive, depending on the carrier you select. A typical 2 pound package shipped via Priority Mail will usually reach its destination within 3-4 business days. Shipping to International destinations varies widely.
Please note that we are not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the carrier, and may vary by destination. This is especially true during peak shipping periods.
Packages shipped within the United States will be shipped by USPS, UPS or FedEx, depending on weight and the preferred shipping carrier selected at checkout. Shipping time is in addition to standard processing time.
*Please note: Although we rarely experience problems, these shipping times are estimates, and cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to upgrade your shipping method as we deem appropriate, including upgrading to a different carrier to deliver your package faster or more reliably.
The following shipping times are approximate, and vary according to the shipping destination. All timeframes include processing time:
- Economy Mail: Allow 4-7 Business Days for your package to arrive. Insurance is recommended. Tracking information is not available.
- FedEx/UPS Ground Delivery: Allow 3-8 Business Days for your package to arrive. Tracking information will be emailed to you.
- Priority Mail: Allow 4-5 Business Days for your package to arrive. Insurance is recommended, and tracking information will be emailed to you.
- 3 Day Air: Allow 4-5 Business Days for your package to arrive. Tracking information will be emailed to you.
- Next Day Air: Allow 2 Business Days for your package to arrive. Tracking information will be emailed to you.
- Do you ship internationally? We sure do! Your shipping total will be calculated based on weight and destination at checkout. SmashCake Studio LLC cannot be responsible for any international custom and duty fees, taxes, or brokerage fees assessed by the carrier. These fees are in addition to, and not included in, the cost of shipping. We are obligated to declare all items as merchandise, and will not mark items as "gift". We cannot be liable for any delays due to packages held at customs.
- What about lost or stolen packages? On occasion, packages are lost or stolen in transit. We cannot be liable for packages once they have been delivered to the carrier unless you have chosen to insure them.
- The "ship to" address in my Paypal account is wrong - can you fix it? Due to the volume of orders we ship on a daily basis, this is almost impossible. Please double check the ship-to address prior to checking out with Paypal. You can easily add another address to your account during the checkout process. We are only covered by Paypal's seller protection if we ship to the address listed on the order.
- I forgot to order something - can you add it to my order? We process and pack orders pretty darn quick, so it is usually unlikely that we can combine orders.
- I received my order and one of the items is incorrect or missing. What now? As much as we strive for perfection, at the end of the day we're all only human. If we make a mistake, please notify us as soon as possible and we will ship out the missing or correct item lickety-split. A notification of a missing or incorrect item must be provided to us within 3 days of the receipt of your package.
- What is your return policy? If there is a problem with your order, please let us know immediately and we will make our best effort to resolve the issue. We do not offer refunds, but will provide a store credit or exchange for unused, unopened products returned within 14 days of the date you receive your order. Shipping costs are nonrefundable and all costs for return shipping are the responsibility of the customer. Be sure that any returns are shipped prepaid, insured and with a tracking number in case they are lost or damaged in transit.
