This post is a little late for a few reasons. The day before Evie’s 3rd birthday, she started to get very sick. For a child that had barely had a sniffle in her three years of life, the timing was awful. So, we canceled her party and rescheduled. Wouldn’t you know the next obstacle we faced was a colossal snow storm, and the party was canceled a second time. But we finally got it together and Becky Batchelor Photography captured both the birthday girl and all the glitter!
Evie is the ultimate girly-girl. She loves pink, having her nails done, wearing a tutu whether we’re having a tea party or going to the grocery store, touching up her “make-up” (lip balm) a hundred times per day, and wearing high heels. So I wanted her party to be feminine, sparkly and PINK! I gave Mica at The Confectioneress free reign to design the sweets, and she outdid herself with ruffled sugar cookies, macarons, cookie stacks, heart-shaped rice krispie treats, ruffled cupcakes… and of course the lovely cake!
Our friend Jeanine at Sweet Peas Cake Pops & Treats made pretty pink & white cake pops dusted with edible glitter. I whipped up some little cupcake toppers for simple white cupcakes I made in our pink & white striped baking cups.
I used Big Dots Party Paper in Pink Frosting for the table runner on both the dessert table and kid’s seating table. I made a tassel garland for the dessert table and a smaller version to string across each of our little guest’s chairs.
We’re SO LUCKY because in the Indianapolis area we have Violet Vintage, a company that rents vintage accessories and furniture for weddings, birthdays and celebrations of all kinds. I picked up a pretty side table for our thank you treat bags and gumball tubes, and also this charming chair. Love! (*On a side note, every year we’ve had photos taken of Evie holding the same number of balloons that equal her age. It will be so much fun to put a collage together one day of how she’s changed through the years!)
Happy 3rd Birthday to our little miracle and the best “assistant” any mommy-preneur could ask for! We love you more than words can express, Evie Boo!!!
